Although the 13 colonies are the place in America and the Hong Kong colony is a place in Asia. But they also have the similarities and the differences in the economic and political.
In the economic of the 13 colonies, Britain got cheap raw materials and a big market for her goods from them. And Britain did not let the 13 colonies produce things that would compete with their goods. But in Hong Kong, Britain let many important companies to build in and some of them are still working now, such as Hong Kong Shanghai Bank and Hong Kong Electric Company. They make Hong Kong greatly different in economic.
In the political of the 13 colonies, Britain keep having war and have the army so that they need to have a large money to support it. Then Britain’s attempt to tax the 13 Colonies. But in Hong Kong, Britain do not attempt to tax us and the role of Hong Kong as a political safe haven for Chinese political refugees further cemented its status, and few serious attempts to revert its ownership were launched in the early 1900s.
Although the 13 colonies and Hong Kong are the colony of Britain and they are controlled by Britain too but we can see that Hong Kong has more freedom than the 13 colonies and the people of the 13 colonies are more discontented than the Hong Kong people.

You've done a good job of incorporating the grammar items into your composition. Moreover, you've contrasted well the political, economic and social conditions. The copying, too, was adequate; that is, I understand that Hong Kong people didn't make many serious attempts to revert its ownership.
