History Homework (Lesson 6 on 5-3-2008) (11-3-2008) (Monday)

First, the 13 colonies feared that Britain would rule them with absolute power and they discontented with British Rule.

Next, the colonists were not happy with Britain’s economic policy.

Then, Britain’s attempt to tax the 13 Colonies made them even more discontented but the colonists said that Britain had no right to tax them and this set off a quarrel between the two side over the right to tax.

After that, many colonists read the writings of some Enlightenment thinkers learnt that they could rise up against Britain if Britain ruled unfairly.

Finally it caused the American War of Independence and the 13 Colonies won independence from Britain and the United State was born.
