1. How did the colonists unite America?

The colonists united America because they discontented with British Rule. They feared that Britain would rule them with absolute power. They discontented with Britain’s economic policy. They wanted to trade freely. The discontented with Britain’s political. This quarrel led to the American War of Independence. In the first Continental Congress, the high-handed policy joined the 13 colonies together. Then, Britain signed the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783 to recognize the independence of the 13 colonies. A new nation called the United States of America was born.

2. How did the legislature take part in the structure of the federal government?

The legislature is in the structure of the federal government. Congress is the legislature. The Senate stands for the States and the House of Representatives stands for the people’s interests in the States. And congress makes laws and can impeach the President.

3. How did the American revolution happen?

First, in 1773, there was the Boston Tea Party. Some colonists went on board some British ships in Boston Harbour and threw the boxes of tea on the ship into the sea to protest against the tax on tea. After this event, the British government passed the Intolerable Acts to punish those who did the event. Then in 1775, there was the First Continental Congress. This high-handed policy joined the 13 Colonies together. In the same year, war begins, fighting broke out between the colonists and the British soldiers at Lexington in Massachusetts. The American War of Independence began. And there were the second continental congress and the 13 Colonies proclaimed The Declaration of Independence. Finally, the colonists defeated the British army in 1781. Two years later, Britain signed the Treaty of Paris to recognize the independence of the 13 colonies. A new nation called the United States of America was born.

4. Why did the people in the Enlightenment object to absolute power?

In the Enlightenment, the thinkers helped people understand their rights better, People knew that they could rebel if the king suppressed their natural rights. Do that they objected to absolute power when it was unfair.

5. Explain one of the British acts that created economic discontent amongst the American colonists.

Britain got cheap raw materials and a big market for her goods from the 13 Colonies. But she did not let them produce things that would compete with her goods. The colonists felt it was unfair and they wanted to trade freely. It created economic discontent amongst the American colonists.
