Number the Stars
Annemarie, a lanky girl, had silvery blond hair. Ellen, a ten-year-old student, a stocky girl had dark pigtails. Kirsti, Annemarie’s little sister, five-year-old. Annemarie and Ellen are good friends.
Once, after school, they run to home. On the way for they went home, they met two soldiers who wore helmets, tall shiny boots and gripped rifles in the hands. The taller one stopped their way and asked Annemarie some questions like ‘Why are you running? What is your name? What is this backpack? Are you a good student?’ After they asked the questions, the soldiers told Annemarie, Ellen and Kirsti that they looked like hoodlums when they run and told them to go home.
Annemarie and Ellen did not want to tell the event to their mothers. Annermarie thought her mother would be upset. Ellen thoughther mother would probably scold her for running on the street. But Annemarie was late. Her little sister, Kirsti was telling the whole event to their mother and Ellen mother when Annemarie and Ellen came home. After their mothers knew that, they were angry and unhappy.
